Boot Jacks are an important piece of early Americana!  The earliest examples are usually primitive wooden affairs.  Later examples were made of metal and were blacksmith made.  Over the years over 200 patents have been granted for different designs.  The "Naughty Nellie" is probably the most commonly seen and most often reproduced of all boot jacks.  The examples below show the variety of designs and color schemes that can be found, and are guaranteed to be at least vintage even if not 100 year old antique.

"Black Nellie" Cast Iron Boot Jack     I am surprised more of these were not done like this with the overt racism message involved.  Note that she has  Mammy style headgear on indicating this bootjack was not just painted black to make her black, it is by design.  At the time of this writing it is Black History Month.  Any buyers?

"Nipple Nellie" Cast Iron Boot Jack     This Nellie bootjack has a one piece outfit on pulled down just enough to reveal a bit of nipple.  The paint is worn, but she is not.  Nice form, nice detail, and nice -----.
