Page 1
Early General Electric Iron with Matching GE Trivet This antique electric iron played an important role in the history of early electric appliances, being a symbol of the transition from stovetop-heated flatirons or fuel powered versions to electricity. With its cast iron body it pre-dates the later chrome-plated irons that are typically found. It has a great 2-prong porcelain plug built into the back and it's complete with its proper matching trivet that proudly displays the GE logo. Click for Pic ML-EI-1
Excellent ..... $35.00
Pacific Electric Co. Patented Electric Iron This iron hails from Ontario, California and is not often found in other parts of the country. It came in a few different sizes with this being the 4 lb. one. There is lots of writing cast into the top, including the manufacturer name and several different patents dating from right around 1905. It has an unusual flat-prong plug. Click for Pic ML-EI-2
Very Good ..... $25.00
3 Antique Electric Iron On the left is another example of the Pacific Electric Co. iron. It is very nice and in slightly better condition that the above example.
Next is a VOLTO. This is a hard to find electric iron whose name played off the new power source that created its heat. Note the white porcelain plugs at the rear. It is in super nice condition.
On the right is an iron by the "Guaranty Electric Heater Co." of Cleveland with an early screw-in plug. I imagine they were playing off the name of their GE competitor.
