Rocker & Roller Style Fluting Irons
Whitfield "Magic" Rocker Fluter The base is marked Whitfield and Magic.
The top has an unusual design that resembles a Rhoarschot test to me, but probably
represents something to do with Magic. I am not sure.

Globe
Rocker Fluter Iron
This is a hard
to find rocker fluter!! This fluter was patented by Robert Young of
Geneva, Ohio in 1883. The casting is extremely nice.
Take a look at the pictures and note how the top acts as a base lifter.
A neat feature!!

"Good
Luck" Rocker Style Fluting Iron
This is a nice looking and
hard to find fluter. It appears it was at one time nickel plated and some
early collector thought it would look better with a coat of black paint on it.
No telling where ones taste runs.
Clark
Roller Fluter The Clark is a well known
fluter and has a great look and feel to it. It hails from Buffalo NY. The handle is a
two-piece
casting and very nicely done. You can read the Clark name in the side of it.
It is complete with base, fluter plate, and slug.
Decorative Roller
Fluter This one is a bit different.
You slip the heated slug into the roller handle rather than into or under the
base. The decorative
casting of the handle is nice, and so is the footed stand. Different!
Nickel
Plated Shepard Roller Fluter Iron
At first glance this
is a pretty standard form of roller fluter, but it is in a very unusual finish.
I have never had or seen one of these completely nickel-plated like this one.
It looks to be in near mint condition but note that there is a repair to the
yoke holding the roller. It is actually a nice repair, and could have
been made to be near invisible with a little more finishing. Different!!
