Unusual English Gas Jet Iron This very small antique gas iron is one I have not seen or had before. There are American versions that are very rare, and I assume these from England are tough to find as well. To heat it up you would put it directly on a lit gas jet, which would shoot fire up the inside body cavity. Really unusual, and it will clean up nicely. LCM-GI-I-2

This decorative piece of antique hardware is an example of the type of
gas jet that would have been used to heat gas irons and other "modern"
appliances in the early 1900's. These are a great way to display

Improved Patent Liquid Fuel Iron
This is an English natural gas iron with some patent information cast
into the top. It's about the only gas iron I know of that has the
gas line hookup coming out the side rather than the front or back.
The iron is in super condition. The heat shield is really nice and
so is the handle. It doesn't look like it ever saw much use, and
now it will look great sitting on the shelf out on display!

This type of liquid fuel iron was powered by alcohol. There are
dozens of variations of this iron available from many different
countries and with different small variations. The handle looks
German, but there are English versions and American ones as well. Cute!!

Patent German Gas Jet Iron
This iron was designed to be heated over a gas jet. The vent hole
in the front is somewhat different in design than what was typically
done on this style iron. These "ox tongue" shaped European irons
are considered "dual fuel" because they could also be heated by
inserting a hot slug into the body cavity. This iron is in good
condition but needs to be cleaned up a bit.

Tongue Shaped Natural Gas Iron
The shape of this iron is pretty common, but what is not common is that
it is heated by natural gas. Typically these ox-tongue shaped
irons, as they are referred to, are either heated with a slug or heated
by placing the open back over a gas jet. But this one has the gas
line built right in.
