Acetylene
Stove Co. Cleveland, Ohio Gas Iron
This gas iron's name
implies that it runs off of Acetylene gas, or at least that the parent company
had something to do with it. I have several different versions of this
iron. All close to the same, but all a bit different.

The
"Jewel"
Here is one I have never seen before. I assume it's a natural gas iron.
The good news---this iron looks like it was never used. The bad news---it's
missing the fuel line, so it probably never was. The other good news is
that it's easier to display without that pipe sticking out the back. It's
got great lines and with a name I am not familiar with. It bears the patent
date of Aug. 22, 1911.

Humphrey
Patent
I imagine the patent on this one was for the unusual shape of the heat shield
and the ergonometric handle. Different than most!

Clefton
Fuel Iron from Owatonna, Minnesota
This iron resembles the Colt iron but is
marked "The Clefton Co." and it's a lot harder to find than the Colt.
Many of these small companies were bought out by one another, which explains
the sometimes confusing similarities.

Ox
Tongue Shaped Natural Gas Iron
The shape of this iron is pretty common, but what is not common is that it is
heated by natural gas. Typically these ox-tongue shaped irons, as they
are referred to, are either heated with a slug or heated by placing the open
back over a gas jet. But this one has the gas line built right in.

English
"OK" Natural Gas Iron I'm not sure what the meaning of
"OK" was in this instance---probably not the abbreviation for Oklahoma, and
presumably not that it was just "OK" in an age when other manufactures were
claiming to be "The Best". Anyway, it's a neat iron!

Natural Gas Iron I don't really know that it's English but it does
have that look. I especially like the thumb rest on the plastic
handle. That was done more frequently with electric irons than with
gas ones.
