Goffer / Goffering Irons
Belgian Electric Goffering Iron These unusual goffering irons almost never show up in the US. This is the first example I have ever seen in person. It would revolve with the arms holding the material while the small rods would make the formed ruffle when the operator pushed the top arm back and forth. There is no cord. Very Rare!!

Mixed Metal Double Barrel Goffering Iron w/ Pokers What a great looking English Goffering Iron. The base measures approx 8" in diameter, and it stands just about 13 1/2" tall. The barrels measure just under 5" and just over 6" long. The barrels are machined iron with one rib in the center where they attach. The standard is a finely machined and turned piece of brass with many steps and flutes. The top portion looks to exactly match the lower turning in miniature. A super piece in super condition. Highly recommended!!

Paw Foot Goffer Iron This goffer has a great cast iron paw foot base and mixed metal support design. It is unmarked but probably English. The iron barrel is extra large and it gives the entire piece a unique look. Very unusual, and very graphic!

Queen Anne Leg Twisted Standard Brass Goffering Iron This goffer iron is most likely English as well. They did a lot of goffering there.
This goffer has a great look and feel to it with Queen Anne leg base, twisted standard, and nicely machined barrel. The twisted standard is an uncommon form I have not seen before and the barrel on this one is as finely done as any I have ever seen. It is in super condition. Interesting and highly recommended!

Kenrick Goffering Iron This is an elegant English iron goffering iron. It dates from the 1800's and would have been used to create a pattern of decorative ruffles or frills, usually on the collars and cuffs of fancy clothing or outfits. It stands about 8" tall. It has great patina and is ready for display! Click for Pic

Large English Goffering Iron This English Goffering iron is about 10" tall and has a barrel about twice as big as the above iron. The English it seemed had a lot of different size ruffles to get the wrinkles out of. The barrel and the base do have some pitting but it looks OK. It has great patina and is ready for display!
