Patent 1884 Lamp / Light HolderPatent 1884 Lamp / Light Holder The patent for this is unclear as to where or when this light holder was to be used, or by who.  The patent shows it holding a typical lamp glass.  I guess that is the nature of marketing, just get the idea out there and see who wants it.  I have never seen one before, have you?.   It is a great casting, and a great logo on the top of a shining light rays that look like a flower.  A nice piece of early lighting.

Antique LightingEnglish George III Brass Push-up Candlesticks   This pair of early brass candlesticks have a great form and presence.  They stand just about 10" tall and the bases are 4" square.  The stepped bases are very nicely done as are the main tube that ends in an unusual design cap with dropped corners.  They are period and authentic.  The candle push-up feature works well on one and seems to be stuck on the other.  It looks as if one of these fell over in the past and one of the dropped corners on the top portion was bent / cracked and has been repaired. There is a grey line of what appears to be lead, solder or something similar. It looks to be a very early repair and adds character and authenticity to these.  Very pretty.

Antique Lighting2 Forged Iron Hooks   The larger one is 14" long and the smaller is just over 7" long.  Both pieces are Blacksmith made and the smaller one has twisted arms.  The hook end of the larger one is so close to being closed up that i do not know what its intended use was, but it is nicely made and displays well. I have been told these are pot hooks.

Stillyard Scales2 Steelyard Scales   The brass scale marked A. Stevens  Boston with a large Eagle logo is very unusual.   I assume this had to do with Maritime use being brass to keep it from rusting or corroding in that coastal climate or that it was meant for use aboard a ship.   You see hundreds of iron versions for each one of these seen.

The small iron one below is early as evidenced by the look of the hand forged hooks. The weight is permanently attached, so this one is proper and could be put back into use.
