These antique desks and office chairs are available now and are located in Southern CA. Pick-up will be available there, or delivery along the West Coast may be possible. Alternatively it can be crated and freighted at buyers cost, and we will assist in this in any way we can with this.
Abner Cutler Patented Roll Top Desk The first American patent for a roll top desk was granted to Abner Cutler in 1850. He became a premier maker of Roll top desks and other furniture and his company hailed fro Buffalo NY. Examples of his roll tops have been known to top 12,000 and this one is well fitted and in nice condition. This company was still in business up into the teens of the 20th century and I Believe this one dates from near the turn of the century.
I believe this one is made of Walnut. The design for the slats was different from the norm and they are more like half rounds than the traditional slats found on later desks. I believe this was referred to as a slat front and it unusual in that respect. The interior is original, and the sides of the drawers are marked with the proper name and date. It is also marked on the accessory ink well / pen holder as can be seen in one of the pics. The dates on it and the draw are for later improvements he made to the design. Note the many cubby holes in the top portion. The little doors slide back and forth to reveal the openings. The drawers are full depth and work well. A classic piece of American Office design waiting for a new home.

48" Mahogany Roll Top Desk This a nice looking standard design antique
roll top. It is in pretty nice condition noting that the top was popped open
one time and the lock is now loose and needs to be re-installed.

Store Oak File Cabinet This one is a double decker. The
base is 36" across and 26" deep. It is 38" tall. The upper is 36" across and
37" tall. The top is a series of file drawers. The
base has two upper doors and 4 lower drawers. It is in very nice
condition. The trim on the base and upper match and I do not think it is a
marriage. In person there is not nearly the color difference that shows in
the pic to the left.

Store Oak File Cabinet w/ roll up door This one has an unusual door
that pulls up from the bottom. I think it is a bit later than the rest,
but is an interesting design and would fit well into almost any country setting
that needed this style storage.
