Most of the sewing related antiques you will find on this and our other Sewing Accessories pages originated from Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan, and were part two large and diverse antique sewing collections we are handling on consignment. This is the first time most of these pieces have been out on the market in many years.
Miniature
Roll Front Sewing Cabinet / Spool Holder This unusual small sewing
cabinet has louvered doors the retract back into the top portion to reveal 2
shelves of spool holders and a pincushion. That two tier shelf swings out
for use and access. It is in very nice condition with lots of original
finish which is beginning to crackle. It is walnut and well made, and looks like
a miniature piece of furniture. There is
one small chip on the left above the drawer. It measures
approx 9" across the front, and is 11" tall overall. An unusual
design!

Funky
Multi-Drawer Sewing / Parts Cabinet
This small homemade multi drawer cabinet
could be used to hold just about anything, but was part of the sewing cabinet
collection. It is 9" across and about 14 inches tall and is made out
of whatever wood and hardware the thrifty maker had around---including an old
cigar box!

Silhouette Decorated
1930's Lift Top Sewing Caddy / Tote
This cute little sewing caddy has an applied silhouette of a lady at a
spinning wheel with her dog looking on. It measures 11" across and about
9" tall. It is in nice condition and looks to date from the 30's or so.

Raised
Panel Walnut
Sewing Box / Cabinet
This beautiful and elegant antique sewing box or cabinet is period
and has very nice chip carved decorations on the raised panels and backsplash.
It dates from the 1880's or so, and is handmade. It measures just
over 13" across the top, and 20 some inches tall to the top of the headboard.
It is beautifully crafted and looks like a piece of fine miniature furniture.
In nice overall condition, there is
minor damage / chips at the front edge of the lid and deterioration to the
velvet fabric of the pin cushion. The backsplash has
separated along a joint line, but it can be fixed easily enough. An
unusual and beautiful vintage sewing
accessory!

Antique
Roll Top Sewing Cabinet
This is a cute little spool cabinet fashioned after a larger piece of
furniture. It measures only 8" across and 9" tall. After you roll
up the door you can pull out the 2 shelves to get better access to the thread
or pincushion. It is made of mahogany and dates from near the turn of the
century I would guess. Cute and a functional display!
