19th Century Mitre Jack
The tag on this nice looking miter jack says I sold this
in 1990 for a tidy sum.
Miter jacks were used to hold boards and for cleaning cut angles with a plane. A nice piece.

Carborundum Sharpening Stone This
is a great piece of tool advertising by the best known
name in sharpening stones. It is in great cosmetic condition, but check out
the stone itself. I am not sure if it was made this way or if it got used
by everybody in town as they waited to pay their bill at the counter. Seems
hard to imagine it would still be this nice is that was the case, but it has a couple
of deep swoons in the stone I have never seen before. Oh, by the way it has
two different coarsenesses on the top on each end. That is a bit different
as well. A neat piece.

19th
Century Wooden Lathe This lathe dates from the early to mid 19th century. All the parts are
hand made and nicely done. The screws and metal parts are all hand
forged and the mortise and tenon joints well done and still tight. It
is approx 5' long, and has about a 12" capacity. Note the stepped
speed adjusting pulley and it fittings. This will have to be
picked up, in California, or freight shipped. A nice piece
fit for a museum..

Seneca
Falls "Victor" Scroll Saw w/ Drill Attachment
The Victor treadle / pedal saw with drill
attachment is the largest size pedal saw that the Seneca Falls Mfg Co of NY
produced. The Seneca Falls Mfg Co were the main competitor of Barnes in this line of
pedal powered machinery and as well known for the quality line of saws they
produced. Seneca Falls also produced the Rival,
Empire, Fleetwood and Challenge line of pedal saws. All of these were smaller and
less expensive than the Victor model. Click for Pic Click for Pic Click for Pic Click for Pic Click for Pic Click for Pic
