Eclipse #2 Size Smooth Plane
There seems to be some confusion in the tool world as to the origin,
maker, and retailer of this #2 size smooth plane. John Walters calls it
the #1202 Defiance. There seems to some that believe they were offered by Montgomery Wards, and that
Stanley made them. Roger Smith pictures one and identifies it as a
Stanley. What say you? A nice condition and a hard to
find small smooth plane.

Ohio Tool Company #2 Size Smooth Plane
This has the thick tapered cutter w/ the world logo. Look at the long
toe Rosewood handle. A nice plane, and a hard #2 size smooth plane to
find.

The lever cap is, well lets just leave it at not correct I would not know
how else to describe it. The front knob looks to be a little off as well.

This looks OK. The handle has been glued and refinished,.
The front
knob is Mahogany like the handle. Otherwise it looks
right.
