Center Wheel "Self Regulating" Handled Boxwood Plow Plane
A nice example of a rare form of American plow plane. This great plow plane was one
of the collectors favorites and he made a special tag for it. I guess the
term center wheel plow was not in use then as he identified this as a "Self Regulating"
Sandusky. Overall it is in super nice condition and the plane body has the warm shiny glow
that 100 year old Boxwood exhibits. The rods are nice, and the threads on
the center rod are very nice. There is an age crack running through
the handle that also shows in the body, but it is tight shows no sign of opening, looseness
or other problems. It is getting so that the only time these ever show up anymore are
at major tool auctions, and they have done nothing but go up in value over the last 20 years.

Handled Plow Plane w/ Cutters
A wonderful example of a rare American plow plane. It is such a nice
piece, and so well done that is a wonder it is
unmarked as to maker, but many of them are. This unusual plow plane is in
exceptional condition and was another of the collectors favorites that he kept it in a special place.
The overall
condition is super nice and the
ebony plane body is damage or crack free. The contrasting colors of the
Boxwood rods and nuts are wonderful. There is some
minor chipping close in on the threads as can be seen in the pics. The
rest are very nice. The
skate and other metal parts are all nice and rust or pit free. The cutters
are a matched set and are part of the price. Very Nice!!

Rosewood and Boxwood
Handled Plow Plane
Another wonderful example of a rare American plow plane. This unmarked Rosewood
plow plane is in exceptional overall condition. The plane body is damage
or crack free. The contrasting colors of the
Boxwood wedge, rods, and nuts in contrast with the Rosewood body are wonderful. The fence is made of a
third color wood that may be just a lighter rosewood. It too is very nice.
There is one age check in one of the nuts and the end of one rod is a
bit chewed up. The
threads are very nice. The
skate and other metal parts are all nice and rust or pit free. A very nice
plane that deserves to be proudly displayed!!

This is a nice handled beech plow that has a nice even patina. The overall
condition is nice noting minor cracks in the
nuts. This one has Sandusky's "special improved handle" designed
exclusively for right hander's.
