2 Siegley S & S Transitional Jack Planes These are basically the same plane in different conditions.  The left one is very nice with lots of original finish and no problems.  The right is how you typically find them.    Click for Pic

Union # 542 Patented Transitional "X" Jointer Plane  This transitional plane is set up like the Union X series of planes except the adjuster rod was left off for the transitional line and only the lever feature remains to adjust the cutter.  This is proper.  Overall this plane is good, but shows some wear and discoloration to the wood body.  The handle has been glued in two places.  It measures 26" long.  A coat of wax would go a long way toward improving the look.  A tough plane to fine in any condition.    Good + .....  $50.00
