#68 Dovetail Saws The pics tell most of the
story. All are straight. The top one is obviously made by
Disston but the etch says Craftsman. The middle one is from Danville
and later than the fine condition early bottom one. Good . . . .Better &
Best.

Henry Disston & Sons / Wilkinson #44 14" Backsaw
The blade is straight, and it has been sharpened. It is stamped on the top bar with the Disston
name and info, and the strong etch is Wilkinson. Never seen that before. There is some ever so light
pitting on the back side, but it has a lifetime of life left in it. A beautiful saw ready to be put
back into use

Disston Cone / Dome / Tall Nut Back Saw Although the
brass back is marked Orton Jewett & Busby, I do not think they were the
maker, just the seller or distributer. I believe this to be an early
Disston tall cone nut back saw. There is some minor pitting, but it is straight, and

This Disston open handle dovetail or backsaw has issues. As can be seen
there is a chip in the blade. It has a slight wave near the back. It feels sharp.

but needs to be sharpened. I know little in the fine points of
sharpening, but this looks
like it was done wrong any which way you look at it, including some teeth
going backwards, different heights etc. Take a look.
