Antique Pedal Powered JigsawChallenge Jigsaw  This Challenge Jigsaw by Seneca Falls Mfg. Co of NY has been partially restored. It looks pretty good and seems to be operable but not all is correct or original.   I believe the table has been recast / replaced.  It has casting ribs on the bottom and a lip at the edge and so might be right and just buffed up for the restoration.  One of the foot peddles has a break in it, and the entire bracket affair to hold it in place looks to be made up.  The rest of this saw looks great and it is a very graphic and showy piece with its flared leg design and paint decoration.  There is patent info up near the top, and a lot of original paint and decoration remain there.

Seneca Falls Victor Scroll Saw w/ Drill AttachmentSeneca Falls "Victor" Scroll Saw w/ Drill Attachment  The Victor treadle / pedal  saw with drill attachment is the largest size pedal saw that the Seneca Falls Mfg Co of NY produced.  The Seneca Falls Mfg Co were the main competitor of Barnes in this line of pedal powered machinery and as well known for the quality line of saws they produced.   Seneca Falls also produced the Rival, Empire, Fleetwood and Challenge line of pedal saws.  All of these were smaller and less expensive than the Victor model.

This saw looks OK.  It has been in stored in a barn for at least the last 20 years and has a coating of dust on it.  I looked it over as best I could in the area it is now in and did not see any breaks or major damage.  It turns over easily, and the saw spring arrangement on top is operable.  The pedals and connecting rods look to be original and OK.  The drilling attachment is present as are the guide wheels for it.

1876 Shipman Patent Scrool Saw / Jigsaw1876 Patent Shipman Scrollsaw /  Jigsaw  This is a neat looking pedal powered jigsaw I have never seen before, and would not expect to see in such nice condition.  It  has an almost shaker look and feel to it being made almost entirely of wood, and having such graceful lines.    Mr. Shipman pulled the patent # 183,029 in 1876, and resided in Rochester NY, and if I am not mistaken there was a Shaker colony up that way back when.  This was bought here on the west coast  near Reading Ca. years ago.  The condition is such that I doubt it was ever used.   It has been sitting on display for the last 20-30 years, and is now being offered for sale for the first time in that time.  A super piece!!

ANtique German Mitre BOxGerman Cast Iron Mitre Box  The wooden saw and the tensioner are missing.  The cast iron base is nice and this saw could be restored and would represent a very early and unusual form of Mitre box for the collection.  Make sure you look at the cast info on the back side with German names and patent info.  It is very graphic. Nice and different.

2 Man Cross Cut Saws3 different 2 Man Cross Cut Saws  The largest one is an 8' saw.  It is NOS.  I cleaned the light rust that was on these.  I used a nylon brush on a power sander.  All three saws came from a closed hardware store and just had storage rust issues.  I think you can see in the pics that they have not been sharpened or used much if at all.  You can just make out etches on 2 of them.  The 8' one says Precision Ground.   Also included is the pair of Disston handles which are also new / NOS..
