Better Antique Hand Saws
Keen
Kutter / E. C. Simmons 5pt Rip Saw This is the
earliest KK etch I have ever seen on a hand saw. The handle is nice with
just a small chip on the top horn. It is straight. Nice and different.

Baker-Hamilton
" Our Best" San Francisco Sacramento 5pt Rip Saw Baker
- Hamilton was California's largest tool distributor during its early growth
years. They subbed out orders for tools and had their name applied to their
different offerings to compete with the name brand tools they also sold.
Meaning this was made for them by Disston or Atkins or one of the other big
name saw makers. It is a quality saw. The cutting edge on this saw is 28" long. It is straight. It shows little sign
of use and is sharp. The Handle is very nice. The Etch is great and I have
never seen one of their saws as nice, and I live just outside of Sacramento. It has a
good feel or heft. Nice and different.

Disston D-95 Saws You can read the etch on both but they are dirty.
The handles are Good. Overall they are dirty, but straight and pretty
nice. Both are 26" and one is a 5 1/2 pt rip and one a 10 pt.
crosscut. I have read that Disston used their best steel for these saws
and they promoted the handle design as superior and more durable than wood in an
attempt to expand their market. These do not have the V logo so I assume
date from during or just after the Second World War. They will clean
up to be much nicer looking.

Disston
Saws The D100 on top shows signs of use, but
is also straight and pretty nice. This is an unusual saw with the deco
style Aluminum handle..
Good ..... $35.00
The bottom one is a Disston Double Duty and a pretty hard saw to find. The etch is pretty readable. Look at the pic to see the design of the teeth. Must have been a chore to sharpen these. CYN-SAWBTR-6 CYN-SAWBTR-7

Disston
D12 London Spring
Crosscut Saw This D12 London Spring is nice.
The 26 " blade is straight when tilted to the right, and has an ever so
slight bend or sway when allowed to tilt to the left. It is sharp
with a strong etch. They don't sell them at Home Depot like this. It
is a 8 point crosscut

2 Disston
D12 London Spring
The top one is a early example of one of Disstons finest
made saws. I am not familiar with the style nuts holding the handle, but
they look original. This is a 13 point fine crosscut, and it is 26" long.
It is straight and sharp. The etch is there, but hard to make out.
The applewood handle is near perfect.
