Stanley Bed Rock # 602 Smooth Plane This is a later sweetheart era 602. It is proper with the Stanley cap as shown. It is cosmetically the nicest 602 offered, but it does have one apology. The tab under the handle has a break. After that it is in super original condition.

Stanley # 603 Smooth Plane This Stanley # 603 Smooth Plane is a type 10 produced just prior to WWII. The paint is original and 90% or so. The proper marked cutter is near full length and nice. The Stanley marked cap, which is proper for this era plane, is losing some of it nickel plating as seen in the pics. The handle and knob look OK but may be later replacements. Stanley # 605 Bedrock Plane Early / Late or ??? The tag on this indicates I sold this to the collector in 1991. I remember finding this plane in a junk shop back then for 10.00 and recognizing it as something out of the ordinary. It has round sides and a 3 screw frog. It shouldn't exist according to the type study and expert opinion.
Experts believe it was a flat top model that was rounded by the previous owner. I am not sure, but guess that is right given the sides are lower than a typical early model round side 605, and just right next to a flat top. Grinding the flat sides round seems like a lot of work for just wanting that look though. Like I said before, the fellow who rounded them did not try to capitalize on it, I paid $10.00 for it and sold it to the collector. He was impressed, and intrigued.
What you see is what you get. It is a round side 605 Bedrock w/ the 3 screw frog feature.. It has not been welded or repaired and will make for a great user and conversation piece for all your friends who are into discussing Stanley type studies and features of Stanley Bed Rock Planes. Different.

Stanley Bedrock # 605 1/4 Junior Jack Plane This Stanley # 605 1/4 is one of the hardest to find of all Bedrock planes.
