# 1 Sweetheart Era Smooth Plane
This is a very nice condition Stanley #1 smooth plane. It has the AA trademark logo on the
full length original grind cutter. It has a very nice smooth cap which
would indicate this is a type 12, and the date can be further narrowed to
between 1923 & 1925 if Roger Smiths type study holds true for #1 planes. I
have had slightly later Sweetheart era #1 planes with the Stanley cap and so this makes sense.This sweet little #1 Stanley plane saw little use. The full length cutter has just minor spotting / stains. The plane has not been over-cleaned. The original japanning is near perfect and at least 95% remaining. The Rosewood handle is near perfect and most of the original finish remains. The front knob looks great. A super nice plane that will be a welcome addition to the collection. It will be some time before a nicer example is available. Highly recommended.

Stanley # 2 Smooth Plane
This Stanley #2 smooth plane is in very nice condition. It has developed a
nice even patina and there is no rust or pitting to speak of. #2's
can sometimes be hard to date or type, but this one with its original T
trademark logo cutter was helpful in pinpointing the type #. That logo
makes it a type 10, dating from between 1907 and 1909 after which the
logo on the cutter was again changed.
This plane has no condition issues
and is about as nice as one could ask for. Its cutter is nice and full
length. The rosewood handle
has nearly all of its original finish as does the nice low knob. The japanning is
over 95% and the cap is very nice as well. As I said, no apologies. A top shelf example nice enough for any collection.

Stanley # 2 Smooth Plane
This Stanley #2 smooth plane is in very nice condition. It has developed a

later type with the rectangular trademark logo dating it from after
1939 and probably just before WWII.. Its cutter is nice and near full length. It has a nice rosewood handle
and the front knob has just cosmetic splits at the base. The japanning is 95% or
better, and the nickeled cap is very nice as well. A top shelf example nice enough for any collection.

This Stanley # 3 Smooth Plane is a type 19 post WWII model. It looks to
have seen little or no use. The paint is original and close to 100%. The cutter is full length.. The handle & knob are
stained hardwood or Rosewood which is proper for this era plane.. There is
minor box rust. A nice usable plane at an appealing price.

#4 1/2 Smooth Plane This #4 1/2 Stanley / Bailey
Smooth Plane is WWII vintage as evidenced by the heavy casting, black rubber
blade adjusting wheel, and the stained hardwood handles. It has seen a lot
of use, but is structurally a nice plane. There is 80% or so of the
original japanning, and no rust or pitting. The wood is good.
Tuned up and adjusted properly it
will be a great user.

This Stanley # 5 Jack Plane is a Sweetheart era type 13 produced in the
mid to late 1920's. The paint is original and
90% or better. The proper marked sweetheart era cutter is near full length
and nice. The handle & knob are
proper and nice noting a chip from the bottom of the front knob. There is no rust or pitting
just a nice even patina. This plane was lightly cleaned with the previous
owners green paint
carefully removed. There are still traces of it in places It is ready
to be put to work and will make for a good user.

#5C Corrugated Bottom Jack Plane
No real problems
here, and this #5 Jack Plane is very nice. The previous owner did stencil
his initials in blue paint on the tail, and scratched his name along side the handle,
but the plane itself looks to have seen little use.. It has the notched
rectangle logo on the cutter, and has the external frog adjustment.
It looks to be a nice Rosewood handle and knob with crazing in the
finish. It will make for a great user. Very Nice.

This looks to be a type 19 produced just after WWII.. It looks to have
seen little if any use. There is some minor shelf rust that will clean easily.

# 5 1/2 C Large Jack Plane This
plane is
all original, complete and in very nice overall condition. With a lite
clean it will be even nicer. It appears to be a type 11 and has the
external frog adjusting feature. The cutter is near full length. The
rosewood handle is very nice, and the japanning 90% or
so. It has been sitting on a collectors shelf for
a number of years and wants to go back to work. Nice!!

# 5 1/2 H Heavy Jack Plane This is a
pretty hard to find Stanley bench plane. They were first introduced in 1902 and
production ended in 1924. They were produced mainly to satisfy or influence
the English market so as to be closer in weight or heft to English infil panel planes of
the same size. Basically the sole and side rails were cast thicker and the
plane is heavier because of it. They are only proper when marked on the casting
with a H. Stanley also offered these H series planes in the 4 1/2 size.
This
plane is
all original and in nice overall condition. It appears to be a type
9 w/o the
external frog adjusting feature. The cutter has over 3/4 of life left. The
rosewood handle has been glued and has an interesting repair running up the back
of it. It is solid and looks fine. The japanning is 90% or
so. The throat is nice. With a replacement cutter and different but
proper handle this unusual plane would easily rate as fine. Different
& nice!!
