lattice work design oftentimes seen on homemade pies but

Antique Trivet
with Fancy Design
There is a lot of great visual design, and a lot of detailed casting
that went into making this nickel plated cast iron piece. The back is
marked with the number "489" as well as a 6-pointed Star of David. The
only apology is a tight crack in the rail about halfway up the left hand
side. Still a very
beautiful trivet with a wonderfully smooth surface and great patina!

Mich. Antique Cast Iron Trivet
You can find this basic trivet style marked numerous different ways, but this is
the first I remember seeing honoring the Ypsilanti Manufacturing Co. You can see the
"Y M CO" in the casting above the half wheel. It is a nice design, and
still retains much of its original black japan finish.

This sheaf of wheat design trivet can be found in several different sizes, and these two are
smaller than average. Both are nice castings with subtle differences
in detail so take a close look at the pictures and if you can't decide

perimeter of a diamond with the letters JTC in the center---the slogan used by
