The Americana and Country Kitchen antiques and collectibles found on this page cover a broad range both in vintage and uses. We use to deal extensively in Kitchen Antiques and related paraphernalia before branching out  and dealing in and collecting many other kinds of early patented and mechanical devices.

Over the years our focus has broadened as the supply of the neat early stuff we first came to love has all but disappeared from the market.   In order to stay relevasnt we moved the time line up a bit and our interests broadened to include  things like patented ice cream scoops, odd canopeners, corkscrews as well as vintage or antique toasters. 

We drew the line at such things as Tupperware,  Fire King, and later plastic "Kitchen Chic" which now seem to be the rage and currently popular and active categories of Kitchen collectibles to seek and collect.

Basically we are dinosaurs stuck in the past and hope to help a few others left like us buy or sell the "good old stuff"!

The race to design, invent and introduce the best eggbeater available began before the Civil War and the beginning of the Industrial Revolution and continued to a somewhat lesser degree into the first quarter of the 20th Century. 

Eggbeater design was considered a science, promoted as such in the marketing strategy, and some very important considerations went into their design and manufacture.  The incredible variety of and the wonderful innovations that were incorporated in the designs and different unique inventions from this period are simply astounding, and the entire mixed-up story of the antique eggbeater has been best told by Don Thornton in his exhaustive work The Eggbeater Chronicles.  I am still using a fork to mix up and eat my eggs.
